Who can sign up for membership?
Membership is open to individuals of all age and race. As with Houston Vietnamese Golf Association (HVGA), only Vietnamese members can qualify and compete in the Texas Cup.

How do I sign up for membership?
Simply register on the forum and sign up under the “DFWVGA Tournament Sign Up” section or email the Tournament Chair listed under the Contacts page.

How much are membership dues?
Membership due are $60 per year to be paid at tournament events. Your membership status qualifies you for Gross wins (no handicap). You must register two DFWVGA tournament scores to qualify for Net wins (with handicap). In addition, Vietnamese members qualify to accumulate Texas Cup points towards making the year end Texas Cup Team. The membership dues go toward club expenditures and a free invitation to the year end club banquet.

How long is my membership effective?
Memberships are for a "golf season" only, with all membership starting on the first tournament and ending on the last tournament of the season. DFWVGA reserves the right to revoke membership for members who violate conduct detrimental to the club.

How do I establish my handicap?
All tournaments are based on a calculated handicap index to ensure competition among members are fair and equitable. You must participated in at least two DFWVGA tournament events to establish a handicap to qualify for Net wins. Your results of each event will be recorded and your handicap adjusted accordingly. What if I have a registered GHIN handicap?
If you have a registered GHIN handicap, please forward the information to the Handicap Chair for consideration. Upon review, the Handicap Chair may establish your DFWVGA handicap and qualify you for Net wins.

How do I compete with others?
Each monthly tournament is an individual stroke play format with Gross and Net winners. All USGA and local course rules apply. The field of competition is based upon skill level by flights. Although members have the right to select their flight base upon their handicap, we strongly encourage all members to challenge themselves in selecting a flight. In addition, each flight plays from different tee boxes as determined for each event.

What flight do I sign up for?
DFWVGA recommends you follow the guidelines above to select your flight, but the decision is ultimately yours to choose a flight that will challenge your skill level; except in the instance noted above.*
